Creation of sites. Hosting sites on Google Sites
Google Sites-a service from Google offers its users the service of free creation and placement of sites on the Internet. The service is part of Google Apps and is intended to replace the outdated “Google Page Creator” service .
The main difference between creating sites in Google Sites is the ability to access the work on the site of several users. The user-site owner can invite other users to work together, distribute access rights to materials, use information from other Google services on the site (Google Docs, Google Calendar, Picassa, etc.). Several web design templates are available for site design.
Free hosting from Google Sites has the following restrictions:
the amount of disk space is 100 MB for storing information on the site and 10 GB per domain for storing information when using Google Services;
CSS and JavaScript are not supported;
the domain name of the website has the form sites.google.com/site_name.
Creating sites using Google Sites is also restricted:
limited site design settings-only colors, sizes, and font styles change;
anonymous comments are prohibited. only authorized users can change the content (including adding comments) ;
there is no RSS feed with site updates.
In order to start creating sites on Google Sites, you must have a Google account or register. Next, you need to log in to your account and select the Google Sites service on your Google products page, which will be used to create the site. The steps for creating websites are simple and detailed.
Google recommends the Google Sites service for creating educational institution sites or other team sites that require collective editing of information.
