Creation of sites. Site development and testing
Site development and testing is the next stage of site creation after the previous and design stages. At this stage, the main part of the site creation process actually takes place.
Designers develop the external design of the site, web programmers write and test the components necessary for the site, web designers create html code and translate design graphic solutions into an acceptable form for the web. Let’s look at each of these components of this stage of site creation in more detail.
Development of design
The requirements for the appearance of the future site are specified in the terms of reference. It specifies the font size for the main text, for titles, certain elements of the corporate identity and color scheme of the site, the ratio of graphic images and text content. Following the requirements specified in the technical task, a specialist designer develops a model of typical site pages – a design layout. This model clearly shows the customer the appearance of the future site. At this stage, you can make any changes or improvements to the design of the site pages.
Writing software modules
Web programming specialists are responsible for writing the necessary modules and special interactive components for the site. Need to create a drop-down menu, a survey, a guestbook, a comment block, and accept and send messages on the site? This and much more is precisely the task of web programmers.
Html layout specialists implement the design layout, perform page markup describing style sheets (CSS), place images and other site elements in their proper places, and optimize the site content for search engines. In addition, at the html layout stage, all components that were previously written by web programming specialists are connected to the site.
After the site elements are developed, you need to test them. Is the site functioning correctly? Are there any errors? Is the site displayed correctly under different monitor resolutions or in different browsers? Testing helps you answer these questions. If the test results satisfy both the developer and the customer, then you can proceed to the next stage – hosting the site.
